32% Say U.S. Heading in Right Direction
Thirty-two percent (32%) of Likely U.S. Voters say the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken the week ending Sunday, January 30. That’s up three points from last week and the highest finding since mid-October.
Confidence in the nation's current course hovered around the 30% mark for roughly a year until late October 2010 and then fell to a low of 23% in early to mid-December. It's been inching back up since then.
Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters say the country is heading down the wrong track, almost identical to last week. Only 37% of those in President Obama's party feel this way, compared to 84% of Republicans and 70% of voters not affiliated with either major political party.
Confidence that the country is moving in the right direction is at 57% among Democrats, close to the 59% found the week before Election Day.
