27% Say U.S. Heading in Right Direction
Twenty-seven percent (27%) of Likely U.S. Voters now say the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken the week ending Sunday, February 27. That’s up just one point from last week.
Confidence in the nation's current course hovered around the 30% mark for roughly a year until late October 2010 and then fell to a low of 23% in early to mid-December. ?
Sixty-six percent (66%) of voters now say the country is heading down the wrong track, down two points from last week. Only 47% of Democrats feel this way, however, compared to 83% of Republicans and 70% of voters not affiliated with either major political party.
Confidence that the country is moving in the right direction is down to 44% among Democrats. Fifty-nine percent (59%) of those in the president's party felt that way the week before Election Day. Just 13% of GOP voters and 24% of unaffiliateds share that view.
