Ohio: Obama 46%, Romney 42%

President Obama continues to lead presumptive Republican candidate Mitt Romney in the key battleground state of Ohio but by a slightly narrower margin. 

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Obama with 46% support to Romney’s 42%.  Five percent (5%) prefers some other candidate, while eight percent (8%) are undecided.  (To see survey question wording, click here.)

This Ohio survey of 500 Likely Voters was conducted on April 18, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Fieldwork for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Ohio Senate: Brown (D) 44%, Mandel (R) 41%

Ohio’s U.S. Senate race continues to be a close one, with incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown now inching slightly ahead of Republican challenger Josh Mandel.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Buckeye State shows Brown with 44% support to Mandel’s 41%. Three percent (3%) like another candidate, and a sizable 12% remain undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Ohio: Obama Takes Bigger Lead Over Romney, Santorum

President Obama has extended his lead over his top GOP challengers in the key battleground state of Ohio. 

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Ohio finds Obama leads Mitt Romney 48% to 40%. Eight percent (8%) prefer some other candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided.  (To see survey question wording, click here.)

If Santorum is his Republican opponent, the president posts a 47% to 41% lead. Seven percent (7%) favor another candidate in the race, while five percent (5%) are undecided.

Republican Josh Mandel, in the first Rasmussen Reports survey since his decisive primary victory, is now running neck-and-neck with Democratic incumbent Sherrod Brown in Ohio’s U.S. Senate race.

Ohio: Obama Leads Romney, Tied with Santorum

President Obama runs slightly ahead of Mitt Romney and dead even with Rick Santorum in Rasmussen Reports’ first Election 2012 look at the key battleground state of Ohio.

A new telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state finds Obama earning 45% support to Romney’s 41%. Ten percent (10%) like some other candidate in the race, and four percent (4%) remain undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
