The Rasmussen Minute: Government Is The Problem
After being out of power for eight years, the Republican party won the presidency in 2016 and completed the trifecta of controlling power in the House of Representatives, the Senate and the White House.
Now, more than 260 days into Donald Trump's presidency, the GOP has struggled to pass the agenda it ran on for years. The expiration date on House Speaker Paul Ryan's self-imposed "200 day plan" has passed while Senate Republicans and leader Mitch McConnell have fallen on their own grenades by failing to repeal and replace Obamacare or accomplish much of anything else.
Both the Senate and the House have approval ratings that hover in the low teens, and a majority of Americans now believe that government isn't the solution to our problems, but that government is the problem–and the subject of this week's Rasmussen Minute.
