The Rasmussen Minute: St. Louis' Thin Blue Line
Since the September 15th acquittal of white former St. Louis police officer Jason Stockley, who was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a black motorist, Anthony Lamar Smith, protests and demonstrations have grown violent.
Gangs of young people roaming the streets of St. Louis night after night destroying property and assaulting police officers has brought back memories of the riots in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014 that followed a grand jury's refusal to indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown.
