What America Thinks: The Pope Is Coming

Pope Francis is set to arrive next week for his first visit to the United States and will go to New York City, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., where he'll meet with President Obama. Most Americans have a favorable opinion of the new Pope and think he has had a positive impact on the public's view of the Catholic Church.

Overall, 71% of Americans say their religious faith is important in their everyday lives, and more than half think more religion would make the country a better place.

Rasmussen Reports will be releasing new poll numbers on Pope Francis and his visit to the United States on Monday, so make sure to check rasmussenreports.com to see the latest.
