What America Thinks: Getting Tough With China?

President Obama is meeting with the president of China beginning today and is expected to raise the growing economic and military stresses between the two countries. Half of voters think the U.S. government ignores abuses by the Chinese government that it wouldn’t tolerate in other countries because of China’s economic power.

More than 80% are concerned about the level of U.S. debt now owned by China, including 51% who are Very Concerned. China's computer hacking and spying on the United States are sore subjects, too. Tough talk behind all the formal ceremony? We'll see.
