cliff”?

If Congress and the President take no action, a variety of tax cuts will expire
on December 31. These include the Bush tax cuts and temporary cuts in payroll
taxes that fund Social Security and Medicare. Should Congress and the President
extend the tax cuts for another year or should they let the tax cuts expire?

spending cuts including cuts in defense spending and Medicare are
scheduled to go into effect on January 1. Should Congress and the
President allow these automatic spending cuts to go into effect?
