Contest Terms & Conditions - January 2013

Official Contest Rules

-The Rasmussen Challenge is being conducted by Rasmussen Reports, 625 Cookman Avenue, Suite 1, Asbury Park, NJ 07712.

-Contest is only open to legal residents of the United States, 18 years old or older. Relatives and employees of Rasmussen Reports or any partners are ineligible to submit entries.

-No purchase of any kind is necessary to enter or win The Rasmussen Challenge. Purchasing subscription services or signing up for electronic newsletters from Rasmussen Reports or any of their partners does not increase odds of winning.

-The Challenge will run once a week, but may periodically skip a week if deemed necessary by Rasmussen Reports. A new question will be announced on RasmussenReports.com, @RasmussenPoll Twitter feed, our Facebook fan page and in our Daily Update e-mail every Tuesday starting at approximately 9:30am Eastern.  Responses to that week’s question must be received by 11:59pm Eastern the following day (Wednesday) in order to be eligible. The Rasmussen Challenge may be terminated at any time.

-Entrants must register name, e-mail address, and response to the current trivia question in order for the submission to be considered valid. Signing up for Rasmussen Reports free Daily Update newsletter, messaging from our sponsors or for notification of future contests is optional.

-Only one entry per e-mail address is permitted in each week’s survey. If a single e-mail address is used for multiple submissions in a given week, only the first response received (determined by submission time stamp) will be eligible.  All other submissions for that e-mail address will be discarded.

-In order to combine point totals over the contest period, participants must use the same e-mail address every week. Responses from different e-mail addresses will be counted as responses from different individuals. Requests to consolidate responses from different e-mail addresses will not be honored.

-For each week that the contest runs, participants of The Rasmussen Challenge will earn points based on how close their answer is to the actual result. These points will accumulate between January 15, 2013 and April 16, 2013.  At the end of that period, the person with the highest number of points will be declared the winner.  Points will be awarded as follows each week:

-In the event of a tie at the end of the contest period, the top point leaders will be issued one final tie-breaking question. The person with the closest answer to the actual result will win the prize.

-Every Thursday, a leaderboard will be posted on RasmussenReports.com announcing the top point earners to date. The leaderboard will include the winner’s name (first name, last initial) and may also be included in Twitter feeds from @Rasmussen Poll, Rasmussen’s Facebook fan page, and in the daily newsletter published by Rasmussen Reports.

-Rasmussen Reports will make every effort to notify the contest period winner via e-mail and/or phone prior to releasing the contest results; however, by entering this contest you give Rasmussen Reports permission to announce and publish your name (first initial, last name) even if contact has not been made.

-The winner will receive a 16GB iPad with Retina display Wi-Fi (or equivalent model), valued at approximately $500.
