Most Moviegoers Don’t Care About Stars’ Political Statements

Award ceremonies full of actors making political speeches probably don’t have much impact at the box office.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 54% of American Adults who regularly go out to watch movies in theaters say the political opinions of actors do not make much difference in which movies they go see. Just 13% say that if a movie star expresses political opinions in public, that makes them more likely to see the movies they star in, while 27% say they are less likely to go see movies featuring actors who express political opinions.
