SAVE Act: 62% Still Want Senate to Pass It
Most voters continue to support the SAVE Act, which would require proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections, but is currently being blocked in the U.S. Senate.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 62% of Likely U.S. Voters support the SAVE Act, including 46% who Strongly Support the legislation. Thirty-three percent (33%) are opposed to the bill, including 22% who Strongly Oppose the bill. These findings have barely changed since May. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,156 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on July 23 and 26-27, 2026 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
