America the Exceptional: Trump’s Words Resonate
The patriotic message of a Fourth of July speech by President Donald Trump wins widespread agreement from voters.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 69% of Likely U.S. Voters agree with the statement: “For two and a half centuries, our American republic has stood as the crowning achievement of human history. ... No people have done more good, shown more courage, made more progress, righted more injustice, or achieved more greatness than ... the American people.” That includes 40% who agree with the quote from Trump’s speech at the National Mall. The survey of 1,081 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on June 7-9, 2026 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
