2* If Congress and the president do not act, tax increases and government spending cuts totaling more than $500 billion will go into effect on January 1. How likely is it that Congress and the president will agree on a plan to stop the tax increases and spending cuts before January 1?

 

3* Looking longer term, how likely is it that Congress and the president will agree on a long-term plan to significantly reduce the cost of entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare?

 

4* How likely is it that Congress and the president will agree on a long-term plan to significantly reduce the cost of military spending?
