Democrats Like One-Party Rule More Than Others

With Democrats on the brink of one-party rule in Washington, D.C., it’s no surprise that they like the idea a lot more than other voters do.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 41% of all Likely U.S. Voters feel it is better for the country with one political party running both the White House and Congress. Thirty-four percent (34%) disagree and prefer each being run by a different party. Twenty-five percent (25%) are undecided. This is comparable to findings four years ago. The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted November 19 and 22, 2020 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
