Election 2010: Oregon Governor

Oregon Governor: Dudley (R), Kitzhaber (D) Still Neck-and-Neck

The race to be Oregon’s next governor remains a close one.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state finds Republican Chris Dudley earning 49% of the vote, while his Democratic challenger, John Kitzhaber, receives 46% support.  Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and another three percent (3%) are undecided. The race remains a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard.

Two weeks ago, Kitzhaber posted a 48% to 46% lead, but the two candidates have been essentially tied since February. Support for Dudley, a former professional basketball player turned businessman, has ranged from 36% to 49%.  In the same period, Kitzhaber, who served as governor of Oregon from 1995 to 2003, has earned 41% to 48% of the vote.
