52% Say Trump Relies Less on Cabinet Than Other Presidents

Thursday, March 15, 2018

Following President Trump’s firing of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, voters remain strongly convinced that a president’s Cabinet plays a critical role in governance, but most also agree that Trump doesn’t use his Cabinet like his predecessors did.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Trump relies on his Cabinet less than most other presidents. Just 15% think he counts on his Cabinet more, while 21% say Trump’s use of it is about the same as other presidents. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
