National Survey of 1,000 Likely Voters
Conducted September 8-9, 2013
By Rasmussen Reports
1* A
number of controversies are swirling around the White House at the moment. I’m
going to read you a short list of topics and ask you to rate whether you
consider each a serious scandal, an embarrassing situation but not a scandal or
no big deal.
The National Security Agency's secret surveillance of
Americans' phone and e-mail communications.
The Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of
conservative political organizations.
The
White House’s explanation of what happened when the U.S. ambassador was killed
in Benghazi, Libya last year.
The Department of Justice secret subpoenas of
reporters’ phone records.
2* Looking
ahead a year from today, which of these controversies will still be a major
news story?—the government's secret surveillance
of millions of Americans' phone calls and e-mails, the Internal Revenue
Service's targeting of conservative groups, the Justice Department's targeting
of reporters and the Obama administration's handling of the situation in
Benghazi, Libya where the U.S. ambassador was killed last fall.
