National Survey of 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters
Conducted May 19-20, 2013
By Rasmussen Reports

1* A number of controversies are swirling around the White House at the moment. I’m going to read you a short list of topics and ask you to rate whether you consider each a serious scandal, an embarrassing situation but not a scandal or no big deal:

The Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative political organizations.

The Department of Justice secret subpoenas of reporters’ phone records.

The White House’s explanation of what happened when the U.S. ambassador was killed in Benghazi, Libya last year.

2* Looking ahead a year from today, how likely is it that any of these controversies will still be a major news story?

3* (Only answered by those who say any of these controversies are at least somewhat likely to be a major news stories a year from today -- 546 Likely Voters) Which story is most likely to still be in the news a year from today— the IRS targeting of conservative political organizations, the Justice Department’s secret subpoenas of reporters’ phone records or the White House’s handling of the Benghazi situation?
