2* As part of an ongoing investigation into news leaks of national security information, the Justice Department secretly obtained phone records from the Associated Press news organization. Were the Justice Department’s actions primarily an attempt to intimidate the media or primarily out of concern for national security?

3* Some people say that there is a natural tension between freedom of the press and protecting national security. In the United States today, is the balance too much in favor of freedom of the press or too much in favor of national security?
