* How closely have you followed news stories about states planning to drug test     welfare recipients?

* Suppose a welfare recipient is found to be using illegal drugs. Should welfare benefits be taken away from those who are using illegal drugs?

* [Asked only of those who answered “Yes” to previous question] If someone on welfare is found to be using illegal drugs, should their welfare benefits be ended on the first offense or should there first be one or more warnings before their benefits are cut off?

* Which of the following steps should be taken to determine if welfare recipients are using illegal drugs? Should all welfare recipients be tested regularly, should they be tested randomly, or should they be tested only when there is a reasonable suspicion that they are using illegal drugs?

* When people apply for welfare benefits for the first time, should they automatically be tested for illegal drug use, should some applicants be randomly selected, or should they be tested only when there is a reasonable suspicion that they are using illegal drugs?
