How closely have you followed news stories about states planning to drug test welfare recipients?

Suppose a welfare recipient is found to be using illegal drugs. Should welfare
benefits be taken away from those who are using illegal drugs?

[Asked only of those who answered “Yes” to previous question] If someone on
welfare is found to be using illegal drugs, should their welfare benefits be
ended on the first offense or should there first be one or more warnings before
their benefits are cut off?

Which of the following steps should be taken to determine if welfare recipients
are using illegal drugs? Should all welfare recipients be tested regularly, should
they be tested randomly, or should they be tested only when there is a
reasonable suspicion that they are using illegal drugs?
