* How closely have you followed recent news reports about the upcoming federal budget talks in Washington, DC?
* Which do you favor – a federal budget that increases spending or one that cuts spending? Or should spending levels remain about the same?
* Unable to reach a long-term agreement on how to reduce the federal deficit in 2013, Congress agreed to automatic across-the-board annual budget cuts. These are known as “sequester cuts”. Have these automatic spending cuts been good for the economy, bad for the economy, or have they had no impact on the economy?
* A proposal has now been made to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans and end these spending cuts. This proposal calls for $74 billion in new spending, almost evenly divided between defense and domestic programs. Do you favor or oppose ending these automatic spending cuts and raising federal spending by $74 billion instead?
* Are additional tax hikes needed to fund the federal government?
