1* How closely have you followed recent news reports about a pledge not to raise taxes?

2* Suppose you had a choice between a candidate who signed a pledge not to raise taxes and another candidate who refused to sign such a pledge. For whom would you vote?

3* Has your member of Congress signed a pledge not to raise taxes?

4* [If yes to above] Suppose President Obama proposed a deal to reduce the deficit that included equal amounts of tax hikes and spending cuts.
