1* A proposal has
been made to extend the Bush administration tax cuts for everyone who makes
less than a million dollars a year. Taxes would go up for those who earn more
than a million dollars a year but would stay the same for everyone else. Do you
favor or oppose this plan?
2* Suppose Congress
passes a plan to extend the Bush administration tax cuts for everyone who makes
less than a million dollars a year. Nothing else is done, automatic cuts in
government spending of about $100 billion a year will go into effect on January
1. This includes cuts in defense spending, Medicare and many other programs.
Should Congress and the president allow these automatic spending cuts to go
into effect?
3* Is it possible to
balance the federal budget primarily by letting the automatic spending cuts go
into effect?
4* Suppose Congress
raises taxes on those who earn a million dollars or more a year. Should
Congress also raise taxes on those who earn between $250,000 a year and a
million dollars a year?
5* Should taxes be
raised on those who earn between $100,000 and $250,000 a year?
