Pelosi: 39% Favorable

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) is viewed favorably by 39% of American voters and unfavorably by 47%. That’s down from a month ago when she was viewed favorably by 47% and unfavorably by 45% (see trends).

The current figures include 14% with a Very Favorable opinion of the Speaker and 29% with a Very Unfavorable view.

Forty-three percent (43%) of women have a favorable opinion of Pelosi. Thirty-five percent (35%) of men share that assessment.

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of self-identified liberal voters have a favorable opinion of the Speaker along with 47% of moderates and 17% of conservatives.

On a partisan basis, Pelosi is viewed favorably by 62% of Democrats, 16% of Republicans, and 35% of those not affiliated with either major party.

During her tenure as Speaker, Pelosi’s favorable ratings have ranged from a low of 38% to a high of 47%.

While Pelosi’s ratings are down this month, they remain much higher than other Congressional leaders such as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (19% favorable), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (19% favorable), and House Minority Leader John Boehner (14% favorable). Overall, 19% of voters say that Congress is doing a good or an excellent job. Democrats have a 12-point advantage over Republicans on the Generic Congressional Ballot. Democrats are trusted more than Republicans on ten key issues tracked by Rasmussen Reports. The GOP is most competitive on the issues of taxes and immigration.
