Forty-three percent (43%) of American voters believe things in this country are generally going in the right direction. That's unchanged from a week ago. Only once all year, the week following the Republican National Convention, have more Americans thought the country was heading in the right direction. The Rasmussen Reports survey also found that 54% believe that things in the country have gotten off on the wrong track. That's unchanged from each of the past three weeks. This basic measure of voter contentment will be updated every Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the public site. It is updated daily for Premium Members. Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republicans say the country is heading in the right direction. That view is shared by 17% of Democrats and 39% of unaffiliated voters. In the 16-Battleground States that are likely to determine the outcome of Election 2004, 43% say the country is heading in the Right Direction.
