For Voters, Trump More Help Now to Candidates

As midterm elections draw nearer, voters see President Trump as more of a positive than they did a year ago.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 34% of Likely U.S. Voters think it would help political candidates in their state if Trump came to campaign for them, up only slightly from 31% last year at this time. But while just as many (33%) say a Trump appearance would hurt those candidates, that's down 10 points from 43% a year ago. Twenty-two percent (22%) say it would have no impact, while 11% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
