Voters have more confidence now that Republicans rather than Democrats have a plan for the future, and they’re almost evenly divided over whether either political party is really the party of the American people.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 47% of Likely U.S. Voters think the Republican Party has a plan for where it wants to take the nation. That’s a 12-point increase from a year ago when just 35% believed that to be true. Thirty-three percent (33%) say the GOP does not have such a plan, and 20% are not sure. The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on February 20-21, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
