Levin Still Dominates Michigan Senate Election

No surprises in the U.S. Senate race in Michigan as incumbent Carl Levin continues to cruise towards re-election. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds Levin leading challenger Jack Hoogendyk 61% to 36%. Last month, Levin had a 57% to 38% lead over the State Representative. The long-time senator has led by no less than seventeen percentage points since tracking of the race began back in May. He has not faced a serious election threat since 1984. This month, Levin leads 59% to 33% among unaffiliated voters in Michigan. He also leads 61% to 36% among men and 62% to 36% among women in the state. (Want a free daily e-mail update? If it's in the news, it's in our polls). Rasmussen Markets data suggests that Levin has a % chance of winning re-election in November. These results are updated on a 24/7 basis by market participants. It costs nothing to join and add your voice to the collective wisdom. Levin is viewed favorably by 59% of voters and unfavorably by 34%. The challenger is still little known to voters. Hoogendyk is viewed favorably by 36% and unfavorably by 37%, while 26% are still uncertain. Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm earns good or excellent reviews from 32% of voters, while 37% say she is doing a poor job.
