Wisconsin: McCain 51% Huckabee 30%

In Wisconsin’s Republican Presidential Primary, the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds John McCain attracting 51% of the vote and holding a twenty-one point lead. Mike Huckabee is a distant second at 30% while 7% support Ron Paul and 12% are undecided.

McCain is viewed favorably by 77% of Likely Republican Primary Voters in Wisconsin, Huckabee by 67%, and Paul by 30%.

Eighty percent (80%) believe McCain is at least somewhat likely to win the White House in November if nominated. That figure includes 37% who think he is Very Likely to be the nation’s next President.

Thirty-three percent (33%) believe the economy is top voting issue for Election 2008. Nineteen percent (19%) say National Security is the highest priority.

In the Texas Primary, scheduled for March 4, McCain holds a modest lead over Huckabee. McCain has a more comfortable lead in Ohio.

Nationally, in general election match-ups, Barack Obama currently leads McCain while McCain leads Clinton.

Recent state polling shows Obama leading McCain in New Hampshire, Colorado, and Nevada. Clinton does not do as well against McCain in these states. In Missouri, McCain is essentially even with both Clinton and Obama.
