Five percent (5%) of American voters say they will watch all of the Democratic National Convention on television. That matches the number of voters who go online for political information every day or nearly every day. Another 28% say they will watch "a lot" of the convention. At the other extreme, a Rasmussen Reports survey found that 23% of voters will not watch any of the convention coverage while 39% will watch just a little. Among those who plan to vote for John Kerry, 49% will watch all or a lot of the convention coverage. Among Bush voters, that figure is 19%. As for those who are not committed to either candidate at this time, 16% will watch a lot of the coverage and 4% will watch all of it. Seventy percent (70%) of those who will be watching a lot or all of the coverage already plan to vote for Kerry. Another 2% are leaning towards Kerry while 26% are Bush voters or leaners. Less than 2% of the television audience will be people who are truly undecided or are likely to vote for a third party candidate. Thirty-four percent (34%) of Democrats say they will talk about the convention a lot this week with family friends and neighbors. Eighteen percent (18%) of Republicans say they will do the same along with 20% of voters not affiliated with either major political party.
