26% Say Election Will Be Too Close to Call

Twenty-six percent (26%) of voters are expecting a repeat of Election 2000 this year--an election that is too close to call. A Rasmussen Reports survey finds that 47% expect President Bush to be re-elected. Eleven percent (11%) expect a Bush landslide while 36% predict a modest Bush victory. Twenty-five percent (25%) of Likely Voters expect Senator Kerry to win. That includes 6% who are expecting a Kerry landslide and 19% who foresee a modest victory for the Senator. Ninety percent (90%) of Bush voters expect their man to win. Another 9% think it will be too close to call. Fifty percent (50%) of Kerry voters anticipate victory. Another 41% say it will be too close to call. A related survey found that 54% believe elections are fair to voters.
