Election 2008: Michigan Senate
Levin Still Dominates Michigan Senate Election

No surprises in the U.S. Senate race in Michigan as incumbent Carl Levin continues to cruise towards re-election. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds Levin leading challenger Jack Hoogendyk 61% to 36%.

Last month, Levin had a 57% to 38% lead over the State Representative. The long-time senator has led by no less than seventeen percentage points since tracking of the race began back in May. He has not faced a serious election threat since 1984.

This month, Levin leads 59% to 33% among unaffiliated voters in Michigan. He also leads 61% to 36% among men and 62% to 36% among women in the state.
