Alabama Senate: Sessions 57% Figures 36%

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Alabama found Republican Senator Jeff Sessions leading Democrat Vivian Davis Figures by more than twenty percentage points.

Sessions leads the Alabama State Senator 57% to 36%. The incumbent does equally well among both men and women voters. He also leads Figures by twenty-two points among unaffiliated voters.

Sessions holds a very strong lead among conservatives, 77% to 15%. Figures has a modest lead among all other voters.

Sessions is viewed favorably by 72% and unfavorably by 22%. Figures’ numbers are 38% favorable, 39% unfavorable, and 23% not sure.

In Alabama’s presidential election, Republican John McCain leads both potential democratic candidates by wide margins.

Forty-five percent (45%) say the economy is the top issue of Election 2008. Sixteen percent (16%) name the War in Iraq as the highest priority while 14% cite National Security.
