In his home state of Arizona, John McCain enjoys huge leads over both potential Democratic rivals. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows McCain leading Hillary Clinton 60% to 32% and Barack Obama 57% to 37%.

McCain is viewed favorably by 60% of Arizona voters, Obama by 45% and Clinton by 37%.

Thirty percent (30%) consider the economy to be the most important issue of Election 2008. Twenty-seven percent (27%) say it’s the War in Iraq and 15% name Immigration.

Twenty percent (20%) of Arizona voters rate the U.S. economy as good or excellent, 39% say fair, and 41% poor. Nine percent (9%) believe the economy is getting better while 73% say it is getting worse. Those figures are consistent with national numbers from the Rasmussen Consumer Index which shows consumer confidence to be at or near all-time lows.

Forty-eight percent (48%) believe the U.S. and its allies are winning the War on Terror while 24% believe the terrorists are winning. Those figures are very close to the national average. Thirty-eight percent (38%) believe the situation in Iraq will get better over the next six months while 30% have the opposite view.

Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Arizona voters say that American society is generally fair and decent. Twenty-three percent (23%) say it is unfair and discriminatory. Again, those figures are close to the national average.
