In Tennessee, a Rasmussen Reports survey finds President George W. Bush leading Senator John F. Kerry 49% to 41%.

Four years ago, George W. Bush carried Tennessee by a 51% to 47% margin. Bush was victorious even though his opponent, Al Gore, called Tennessee his home.

This is the first Rasmussen Reports Election 2004 poll in Tennessee. The eight-point advantage for Bush shifts the state from toss-up status to "Leans Bush" in our Electoral College projection.

Fifty-four percent (54%) of Tennessee voters Approve of the way Bush is performing his job as President. That figure is a bit higher than the President's national Job Approval rating.

Fifty-five percent (55%) of Tennessee voters have a favorable opinion of the President. Forty-seven percent (47%) have a favorable opinion of Senator Kerry.

Seventy-six percent (76%) of Tennessee voters have a favorable opinion of former President Ronald Reagan.
