Bush-Kerry Favorables

President Bush is viewed favorably by 52% of American voters. Forty-seven percent (47%) have an unfavorable opinion of the President.

The latest Kerry numbers are 51% favorable and 48% unfavorable. Last week, they were 50% and 49% respectively.

Despite minor ups and downs, general perceptions of both men have remained quite stable over the past month. However, there have been significant shifts in the number who see President Bush as conservative and Senator Kerry as liberal.

In the 16-Battleground states likely to determine the election, 51% have a favorable opinion of both candidates and 48% have an unfavorable opinion. This represents a slight gain for the President over the past week and a slight decline for Senator Kerry.
