Forty-five percent (45%) of Likely Voters believe that George W. Bush is more honest and trustworthy than John Kerry. A Rasmussen Reports survey conducted in advance of the Republican National Convention found that 39% believe Kerry is the more honest and trustworthy candidate.

As you would expect, there is strong partisan and ideological divide on this question. There is, however, virtually no difference in opinion between men and women.

These results are certain to disappoint partisans from both sides of the aisle who believe their candidate is obviously more trustworthy than their opponent.

The survey also found that 46% of voters say Kerry is better at understanding the concerns of "people like you." Forty-four percent say that Bush is better on this point.

The voting public is also evenly divided as to who they would rather have manage the U.S. relationships with the United Nations and France.
