Voters Call Trump’s North Korea Outreach ‘Political Posturing’
President Trump’s political opponents are cutting him no slack following his historic step across the border into North Korea this past weekend to further peace talks with dictator Kim Jong Un.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 42% of Likely U.S. Voters think Trump’s weekend meeting with Kim was a step toward peace. But 50% say instead that it was just political posturing that will have no long-term benefit for the United States. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on July 1-2, 2019 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
