His team faces its first face off tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays in the start of the American League Championship Series. Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies came in a close second to Pujols for National League MVP with 19% of the vote from fans. Howard finished first in home runs and RBI’s after a strong second half showing. Recently traded Manny Ramirez, who has helped push the Los Angeles Dodgers to the playoffs this year, came in third with 14%. In the American League, Texas Ranger Josh Hamilton earned 10% of the vote from fans, while Kevin Youkalis of the Red Sox and powerhouse Cleveland pitcher Cliff Lee each earned 9% of the vote.
