Forty-nine percent (49%) of Americans consider Veterans Day to be one of the nation’s most important holidays, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
Just three percent (3%) deem the holiday to honor those who have served in the U.S. military as one of our least important holidays. Forty-six percent (46%) rate it as somewhere in between. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Fifty-two percent (52%) of adults plan to celebrate Veterans Day today although it falls near the middle of the work week. Twenty-nine percent (29%) will not honor the day, while 18% aren't sure.

The survey of 1,000 Adults nationwide was conducted on November 8-9, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
