Americans Want Christmas in Schools

Americans still strongly believe Christmas should be honored in public schools and should have a place on public land.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 71% of American Adults think Christmas should be celebrated in public schools, although that’s down slightly from the past three years. Seventeen percent (17%) do not think Christmas should be celebrated in school, but 12% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of Adults was conducted on December 12-13, 2016 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
