Republicans Say Cuts to Corporate Tax Rates Are An Economic Win

Thursday, September 07, 2017

President Donald Trump this week expressed his desire to slash the U.S. corporate tax rate from a high of 35% to 15%  in order to boost job growth and help middle-class Americans. A majority of Republicans are on board with that idea, but Democrats aren’t convinced that cutting the rates will help.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 46% of Likely Voters believe lowering the U.S. corporate tax rate will help the economy, while 28% think it will hurt the economy. Thirteen percent (13%) think shrinking the corporate tax rate, one of the highest in the world, will have no impact on the economy. Another 14% are not sure.
