Amazon’s 2017 deal with Whole Foods positioned the digital giant to grow their subscription pantry delivery service, but while online shopping may be all the rage, it seems to be catching on more slowly for food shopping. No matter whether they’re making their food purchases online or in a retail store though, Americans are much less likely to say they’re paying more for groceries now.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 23% of American Adults have ever ordered groceries online. Seventy-four percent (74%) have not shopped online for groceries through services like Amazon or Peapod. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The survey of 1,000 American Adults was conducted on January 4 & 7, 2018 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
