As the 2012 election season heats up, Creators Syndicate is launching the syndicated column The Rasmussen Report by noted political analyst, author, public speaker and independent public opinion pollster Scott Rasmussen.

Each Thursday starting on January 12, The Rasmussen Report will offer the latest insight into today’s current events, underlying trends and the questions that Americans are curious about.

Today, the public is awash in polls and data — and The Rasmussen Report will be essential reading for those who want to glean the truth behind the numbers. The weekly Rasmussen Report column will bring newspaper readers across the country what Washington’s leading thinkers and power brokers already know: Scott Rasmussen is an authoritative voice in polling and political analysis.

The Wall Street Journal proclaims that “Rasmussen is today’s leading insurgent pollster” and “a key player in the contact sport of politics.” The Washington Post says Rasmussen is a “driving force in American politics.” Influential political blogger Mickey Kaus declared, “If you have a choice between Rasmussen and, say, the prestigious New York Times, go with Rasmussen.” Syndicated columnist and noted political analyst Michael Barone calls him “one of America’s most innovative pollsters.”

Scott Rasmussen founded Rasmussen Reports in 2003 as a media company specializing in the collection, publication and distribution of public opinion polling information. In 2008, Rasmussen projected Barack Obama would win by a 52 percent to 46 percent margin, and the final results were 53 percent to 46 percent. In 2004, Rasmussen was within half a percentage point of the actual vote totals earned by both George W. Bush and John Kerry.

Scott Rasmussen’s latest book, “The People’s Money” will release from Simon & Schuster’s Threshold Editions on January 31, 2012, available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, BooksAMillion.com and wherever books are sold.

Los Angeles-based Creators Syndicate, founded in 1987, is one of the largest newspaper syndicates in the world, distributing more than 200 newspaper features to over 2,400 newspapers and Internet sites around the globe, including editorial cartoons by Mike Luckovich, Steve Breen, Michael Ramirez and Chip Bok, columns by Mona Charen, Bill O'Reilly, Susan Estrich, Roland Martin, Pat Buchanan, Thomas Sowell and Michelle Malkin, the comic strips B.C., Wizard of Id and One Big Happy, and the comic panels Speed Bump, Rubes and Ballard Street. We conduct public opinion polls on a variety of topics to inform our audience on events in the news and other topics of interest. To ensure editorial control and independence, we pay for the polls ourselves and generate revenue through the sale of subscriptions, sponsorships, and advertising. Nightly polling on politics, business and lifestyle topics provides the content to update the Rasmussen Reports web site many times each day. If it's in the news, it's in our polls. Additionally, the data drives a daily update newsletter and various media outlets across the country.
