In Virginia, the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows President Bush with 48% of the vote and Senator Kerry with 45%. In Election 2000, Bush won Virginia by nine percentage points, beating Al Gore 53% to 44%. Last month, our Virginia poll found similar results, Bush 47% Kerry 45%. Virginia remains in the "Toss-up" category for our Electoral College projections (we require a five point lead before moving a state from Toss-Up status). In Virginia, Republicans and Democrats overwhelmingly prefer the candidate from their own party. Unaffiliated voters are evenly divided, 46% for Bush and 45% for Kerry. Fifty-four percent (54%) of all Virginia voters Approve of the way President Bush is performing his job. That's unchanged from a month ago and slightly above his national Job Approval rating. Data for Virginia will be updated again early next month.
