In Illinois, the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows Senator Kerry with 53% of the vote and President Bush with 37%. This is essentially unchanged from a month ago when Kerry was ahead 54% to 37%. Four years ago, Al Gore carried Illinois by a 12-point margin, 55%-43%. In Abe Lincoln's home state, the GOP is now in disarray. Recently, the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate withdrew from the race after a judge ordered the release of files from his divorce. Kerry leads Bush leads by 20 points among voters not affiliated with either of the major parties. Forty-seven percent (47%) of all Illinois voters Approve of the way President Bush is performing his job. That's up three points from a month ago but still below his national Job Approval rating. Among unaffiliated voters in Illinois, just 44% give the President's job performance their approval. Data for Illinois will be updated again early next month. Our recent state releases included Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
