65% Agree that Palestinian Gov't Must Recognize Israel

By a 3-to-1 margin, American voters agree with President Bush that the United States should not support the new Palestinian government until in recognizes Israel's right to exist.

This view is shared by 82% of Republicans, 53% of Democrats, and 58% of unaffiliated voters.

Seventy-nine percent (79%) of conservatives agree with the President on this point along with 62% of moderates and 51% of liberal voters.

Overall, 53% of Americans gave the President good or excellent marks for his State-of-the-Union Address. An identical number believe it is somewhat or very likely that the U.S. will be at war with Iran within a year.
