Thursday December 15, 2005--On
the day after the Academy Award presentations, 57% of American
adults correctly identified Million Dollar Baby as winner of the
Best Picture Award. Seventeen percent (17%) thought some other
movie won while 26% were not sure.
Those under 30 and over 65 were least
likely to know which movie won. Married Americans were more likely
to name the correct winner than those who were not married.
While most people know who won, 53% say
they rarely or never attend movies in a theater. Another 31% say
they attend the theater only occasionally.
The Rasmussen Reports survey found that
14% of adults claim to watch a feature film in a theater at least
once a month. However, 41% watch a DVD or VCR movie at home that
often.
